Stihl 031 AV Starts and dies after 5 seconds

Fixed an old 031av the other day for a friend and said he cleaned the carb out but he missed the screen and it was plugged solid with the fine stuff. Cut up a down oak with it - Runs like a champ now? Very Good saw!

Stihl MS 250 vs Echo CS-4510

Again not critizing the cs490 just really impressed with the ms250 (post mods and retunes). Before the mods on the 250 I was disappointed with it.

Stihl MS 250 vs Echo CS-4510

Yes three saws in my shop being rebuilt now. Delivered an 031av last night that I re-did and now runs liked a raped ape. Anyways - my opinion (everyone is allowed to have one -right?) comparing My muffler modded and retuned Echo Cs490 to my muffler modded and retuned Ms250 the Stihl out...

Stihl MS 250 vs Echo CS-4510

Cool - the husky is definetly the way to go in that comparison. To bad the dolmar wasn't a 5105 which is a different (modified) saw with 3.9 hp vs th 5100 3.3 hp. Again nothing wrong with the little Echo cs490 it will cut alot of wood for a Home Depot home owner. Regardless of the stickers on...

Stihl MS 250 vs Echo CS-4510

Nope all my saws have been muffler modded and re-tuned my MS250 is a little screamer! The 490 is a fine saw just not impressive - Of the 30+ saws in my workshop if I had never purchased the 490 i'd be Ok. Not saying i'd get rid of it though - I think thats one of those un-written sins??? :-) In...

Stihl MS 250 vs Echo CS-4510

I also have an echo cs-490 and a stihl ms250. The echo runs well, I'm just not that impressed with it - but my MS250 will out cut the 490 all day long.

My kits always had a tracking number you could look up with SF Express - trace & track.

Huztl FarmerTec MS380, MS381, 038 Build Kit Start to Finish

Yep the spring on the Air Filter is too weak and at Higher RPM's it flutters the choke flapper open and closed which causes the saw to run rich. So far all of my local Stihl dealers don't have an OEM filter/choke or spring to replace it (to old). So I'm trying to figure out a way to add another...

Huztl FarmerTec MS380, MS381, 038 Build Kit Start to Finish

Built the MS380 today - Great Kit and Excellent running saw. I completly agree with afleetcommand on youtube - the air filter needs changed to OEM. The kits choke spring (in the air filter) is to weak and causes the saw to choke itself at high rpms when its sucking air and run rich. Very Good...

    Echo cs-490 vs Makita/Dolmar 5121/510

My Echo Cs 490 is a good saw and i like it, but, my Maruyama MCV51 (Dolmar 5105) hands down, no questions asked, is a Superior saw in every aspect.

Replacing Poulan Pro 5020AV - Will I be happy with Stihl MS251 Wood Boss?

I have 4 poulan 5020's and all of them have been better saws and cut more wood than my ms250. I've had the 250 for quite a few years and it was what i thought was the best for what i could afford at the time - but i should have bought something else.
  13. TS73

    Maruyama won't start...

It's like my Stihl MS250 before I Modded the muffler - floods easily. In some cases my MCV51 doesn't need to be choked at all. I've sense modded its muffler and retuned the carb - works great!

    Scheppach?

OK - I was just checking out their website, I see its part of the Husky group. Thanks for the info!

    Scheppach?

Don't know anything about zenoah - i'll have to do some research. Neat looking little saw for the price???

How about the top handle SCHEPPACH CSP2540???? I see a guy on YouTube has one: he paid $142.

    Maruyama MCV51 / PS5105 Carb Question

I read on another thread on Arborsite - one fella used a chisel and a good set of channel locks and pried opened the can slowly and carefully, that's what I did. It worked great! After it was open - I did not cut out the whole cat tube. I simply forced a set of needle nose pliers into the center...
