    MS200T throttle problem

A buddy's 200T has a recurring problem. The long throttle rod (1129 182 1501) disconnects from the throttle trigger. If you've seen this before, did you find a fix short of a new top handle? New rod? New trigger? Something else? Suggestions welcome. TIA.

    Spark arrester for MS261

I have an arrester-less ms261 muffler I'd like to use for a rebuild. The fire risk here means I want to and must add an arrester. This muffler never had an arrester, so it's an add, not replace. There are tons of threads about removing arresters, but I seek suggestions for adding one. I'm more...

    Looking for a bar...

No, I'm not thirsty. A buddy gave me a very used 20" 3/8 Picco 3003 mount bar to play with. I've wanted to try this on one of my MS261s. So far, I'm liking the results. If I continue to be pleased with the performance, I'd like to get a new bar - 3003 mount, 20", 3/8LP (Picco), .050 - because...

    Help me understand...

I have a Stihl BG86 blower. It starts on the first pull almost every time. On a cold start, it sounds like it is running very rich and does not develop full revs/power. After about a minute, it abruptly cleans up and reaches full power/revs. The transition is almost instantaneous, not gradual...

Help, please - Husky 356BT carb removal

If you know the secret, please share the steps involved in removing the carb from a Husqvarna 356BT backpack blower. More specifically, how does one disconnect the choke rod without breaking the plastic lever it connects to? In the pic you can see the choke rod coming in from the left and...

Why/how does it get this bad?

I work on a lot of mowers and see some pretty crudded up carbs, but this is a new record for me although I'm sure some of you have seen worse. My question is this: How and why does the corrosion get so bad? The owner claims this mower ran last year. I've seen lots of mowers that sat all winter...

Echo PB-251 blower won't hit max RPM

I realize it's off-topic but it is a 2-cycle engine and the issue may pertain to saws. I'm working on an Echo PB-251. It has one of the rotary carbs I hate if they don't run well - no standard high-low-idle settings. The issue is this. The max RPMs I can get is about 55-5600, spec says should do...

    Help needed - Husqvarna 55

I've about run out of ideas as to how to get this Husky 55 running decently. It will start and run for a few seconds, then die spontaneously or as soon as any throttle is applied. When first started, it will run a few seconds longer than subsequent restarts. See it in action: First, some...

These tables were in a document Harley T posted recently - thanks H T!

    Recommendation for bull rope

The rope I've been using for at least ten years finally succumbed to wear and tear today. I'm pretty sure it's 1/2" and was, before it parted, 150' long. Before I order a replacement, I'd appreciate any suggestions/recommendations about rope type/brand, diameter, and length. I've seen good...

Want to Sell Mini Mac for parts (free but...)

Mini Mac (not sure exactly which one, see pic) for parts, free but you pay for the ride. Missing air filter and AF cover. The fuel nipple between tank and hose is broken (see pic). P& C look good and tank appears to be intact, no cracks. PM if interested. Would be nice for lazy me if all parts...

    Husqvarna 450 x-torq, help needed

I'm working on a Husky 450 x-torq for a buddy's buddy, so the history is less than ideal. Basic statement of problem I'm seeing: saw starts (reluctantly) but will not run at anything approaching an idle. Things I've done/checked: 1. Tried several different carbs, no appreciable change. 2. New...

    How did this run?

A buddy brought me this 026. The view through the muffler showed no obvious scoring and the rings were free, but the saw had essentially zero compression. The carcass had no starter but I could spin the flywheel - the ONLY resistance occurred when the magnets passed the coil. I pulled the jug...

    Muffler screws for MS200T

I'm looking for the specification for the screws that hold the two mufflers halves together on a 200T. I do not need the info for the screws that bolt the muff to the cylinder - they are spline screw IS-M5x20 per the IPL. TIA.

    Need 088 muffler help/advice

I'm helping a buddy resuscitate an 088 he found. It's going to be pretty needy. One problem is the muffler. It's the clip-on design and the clip end seems to be in good shape. Problem is at the front where the muff is "strapped" to the case. As can be seen in the picture, one of the threaded...

    Off topic - mower problem

I'm working on a pretty tired Craftsman 6.5HP mower and I can't get it to run smoothly unless I push down on the recoil cover while it's running. As soon as I do that, the engine smooths out and sounds good. Lift my hands and the engine revs immediately drop and engine runs rougher and slower...

    Zama carb kits

For Walbro WA and WT carbs, my understanding is that a K10-WAT takes care of pretty much all of them. Is there similar general kit for Zama that covers a range of C1Q or C1U carbs? Those are the ones I encounter often on homeowner trimmers, blowers, etc.

    Guidebar ID help, please

I have two bars that have been hanging unused on my shop wall for far too long. I'm not sure about the specs - pitch, gauge, fitment. Any help is appreciated.
