I had some problems with my ms180 staying tight. talked to a stihl guy and he said to keep pressure on the tip of the bar while tightening chain.

I may be going out on a limb here but i am going to guess bitternut hickory. The end grain ,bark,and splitting remind me of bitternut hickory.

I tried one of those logs once and it seem to help turn the creosote into dry flakes that brushed off easily. I brush my chimney two times a season. takes about 45 min.

welcome dave the only cure for wood cutting addiction is to give in and cut all that you can.

i think the first picture is aspen and the last pictures are black willow. both are very soft, will burn very fast. These types of wood i used during warm weather.

Just because you have plenty of firewood on hand doesn't mean you give up free and easy to cut firewood. I have a two year supply and am going to cut more tomorrow.
