I've gotten yeoman service from a 450 for ten years of intermittent use. It's performance seems comparable to a friends 353.
I wanted something with more power, though, and got a 555. I use both.
Looking for a saw with more snot than my 450. Any saw I get will more than likely sit on the shelf (floor) for six months or so at a time.
Are the plastic saws better suited for extended disuse ? If so maybe the 465 , otherwise I'm gonna opt for a 555.
I've used a 450 since 2010 to keep my house warm.
It works pretty well.
It does what it is supposed to.
I read the manual on hot starting and I know how to file.
I'm a firewood scavenger for home heating only.
Although I yearn for a pro saw and sometimes wish for something bigger, my lil' husq 450 with a razor sharp lpx chain gets the job done.
Sawing is the fun part. Most of the work is dragging , splitting and stacking.
