How many of you are running Stihl

I bought a 500i last week.
I've run two tanks of fuel through it.
So not a lot to say as yet..
I get what Whinbush is saying, post #9.
I bought this saw because of hard hot starts with the other saws. I'm not a mechanic of any sorts, and bought this saw to avoid the issues I'm having with the other saws when hot out. In short, to simplify things.
As I said, have not run it enough to say much.
Thanks for your replys.
I do have one question.
When the saw is warmed up, do you still use the primer bulb each start?
No you d9nt need the choke or primer on any saw when the saw is warmed up. That's goes for most if not all equipment and machines for the most part. Hot engine no need to choke or prime.

Oh yea and to answer the thread yes stihl 660 clone, 038 magnum, ms290, 025, ms250, amd some huskies 460 rancher, 372xp clone that I have unresolved issues with, and have had many others. Love my stihl s tho. They don't ever seem to give me "unresolved problems" that I cannot figure out

Anybody on here have a MS194T - I am thinking about buying one but would like to hear from firsthand owners.

I don't have a 194, but used to own a 192t and have used the 193t...if the 194 is anything like the 192/193 and you're used to running 200ts, I think you'll be disappointed. Almost the weight of a 200, but w/o the power.

I eventually added a 201tcm to the fleet and almost stopped using the 192 completely. After acquiring a 2511t, I finally got rid of the 192.

My 2511t is my go to saw and i have a 201t which I use on larger trees but was hoping to find something lighter then the 201t but with more power then the 2511t.

Which means I am now in the hunt for a 200t

Is your 2511t still stock? Mine felt like a different saw after gutting the muffler and opening up the exhaust outlet. The 2511t is my go-to climbing saw as well, feels just as fast as the 201 in smaller limbs...the torque of the 201tcm does take over elsewhere. Even with the exhaust mods, it's still not that loud.

Do you know if there exists unlimited coils for the echo cs-2511t

Muffler mod and filed away a little on the flywheel trying to advance timing but I need to get a tach as I think the gain was minimal at best.

Muff mod on my 201t is nite and day difference and same on my cs-590

I am 60 and have had Lymes since 21 - on top of that a guy ran a Red on me into my driver door at 50mph

Started out with Stihl 020avs super tank then the 020t & 200t then i made a huge mistake and sold two New MS200T's not realizing the weight & balance difference between them and the 201t.

Got a great deal on an 036 Quick Stop, and was given a busted 026 from a neighbor. New lines, filter, seals, Chinese clutch cover and handlebar, hours of cleaning crud off, sanded and Scotch Brited the cylinder, MMed, replaced the scored piston with a Meteor and reused the clips.

That last part was a mistake.... Ran 2 minutes before it popped out and the wrist pin took out the transfer bridge on one side. Oh well, I guess this is open port now. Smoothed it out (meant to leave a bit of a tab but my M18 grinder isn't exactly light or precise, slipped a bit and had to go further to knock out scratched plating) and took out the bridge on the other side to match.

The new piston was chewed up a bit, bottom ring was cracked and pinched. Pulled the fragments out, shaved off the lumps and ran some sandpaper in the groove. Was thinking of just running it with 1 ring, but took an old worn one from the old piston.

175ish PSI. Ran like **** at first because I abused the throttle linkage a dozen times and bent it out of shape. This is the most frustrating linkage to hook into the carb that I've ever dealt with. At least until I reviewed the shop manual and realized it's only a single screw to take the top of the handle off and access the trigger linkages. Runs half decent now, better than when I got it, but haven't chewed much wood since the rebuild.

The (fresh) new piston was the only real "improvement" I was trying to do, the cylinder work and piston repair was just to avoid spending money to replace. Ugly, improper tools for the job, but hey it works (for now) and I've gained a rich more experience. (Last pic should have been first)

I split the muffler in 2 on the 2511 in order to remove the cat/divider inside.

I muffler modded the 201tcm, but the saw still feels "lazy" compared to an 020t or 200t. I'd pick up a 200, but people are selling beat-to-crap versions for the price of a new 201. I dabble in saw porting, so one of these days I might try to help the 201 out.

Yeah, health issues suck. I've got carpal tunnel pretty bad, I'm probably looking at surgery. As much as I like my old rear-handle 0-series Stihls, saws with good AV like my Huskies or my ms400 are the ones that get pulled out for extended periods of cutting.

I will PM you with what, literally, saved my life from cancer and Lymes (still with me) and keeps me going.
I know the end will come someday = i just want to stay as healthy as i can and then drop off.
No wheelchairs or nursing homes for me.
