I agree with Spike here, the 70 is a torque monster and will run forever. (hopefully) Although it is heavy compared to todays saws, it isn't that bad to carry around and you can still feel your hands at the end of the day. It still gets its fair share of work around my house.

As great as the 2171 is (thanks Spike!), I don't think it is legendary like the 70. I think my 2171 will die before my 70. It is a lot easier to run for sure and I will choose it over the 70 most days, but it doesn't have the advancements that would put it in the 70 class of legends.

I have always wondered about the specs of the 70, they say that it is a lot heavier than the 621, with just a tad more power......

LOLOL, says the man with the largest Jonny signature on this site...

I would gladly donate a saw. All one has to do is fill out my 486 page application (2 copies), send in the $50 filing fee, and after a 6 month evaluation of the application and a quick inspection by PlantBio's dog (I'm considering a promotion to head of my handlers), I will ship the saw for a reasonable $450. I do reserve the right to deny any and all applications if I find the applicant to be "not worthy" of the saw they request, or it fails PB's dogs inspection. No  , , or:confused: need apply.

Thoroughness is next to Godliness...

Here is the inspector after a hard day of chainsaw inspecting. If he only stayed that small. He is ####ing house size turds now.

Here is the monster yesterday disturbing a wetland habitat...

I gave him the day off yesterday and we went to the coast.

I think I need to add more old JReds to my collection. Anyone want to help me with my cause? (Belgian)

The Raket XF sure is one of the cooler looking Jonsereds, and probably the most handsome saw ever made, but the 111 will beat it badly.......:greenchainsaw:

jonsered xf

no dont own a camera but will get my mate to shoot some over the w/e and will post them as soon as ok im a stihl nut especially 090/lightnings but this xf is a sweetie it sat in the shop for 3 years and he finally agreed to sell it to me as unclaimed repairs as i said total cost was $100 aud took it home and fresh fuel and 5-6 pulls and she fired up heaps of smoke till it settled down now its stored but fresh fuel and she is a goer again they tell me that they are fairly rare saw and worth more than a $100 lol.regards steve oh by the way just picked up another early lightning for $50 will be delivered next week

I learned a little about the NOS 621 at the dealer near my work. It is not NOS, just an extremely low hour saw. It was owned by a teenager who drowned and was put on display in memory of him. It looks like a new saw that has been on a shelf for a long time. No pics, yet.

That is a good story with the saw, and a good memorial. I would never sell that saw.

I personally would have been buried with it, but that is just me. I might need a few extra pine boxes when I go. Unless I somehow lose half my body in some freak accident, then they can shove a few more in with me.

Plant, I would gladly help you but those old jonsereds are not easy to find, even in Belgium. If you really want to build a collection, I suggest you get in touch with George Blake (Motorsag) or Magnus in Sweden (Mange), they have a huge collection of jonsered saws (and others) and are certainly willing to trade or help you. Building a collection (even small) takes time and effort...
