Looks good. You might think about a magic heat on the stove pipe. About 1/4 of the heat I circulate throughout the 3200 sq ft house is generated from it. I also think it reduces by chimney pipe temps a significant amount.

whats wrong with blue pipe, up to where it connects at the ceiling??? if its far enough from the wall-it should be to code---and a lot of heat will come off the blue pipe---and the magic will help also---

I did a project like that last year. It will hold the heat well - thermal mass.

Your family will enjoy it.

I did some reading on the magic heat and it said it could only be used on single wall pipe. Do you know of anything that I can use on my double walled pipe?

nice stone work !

there is nothing wrong with that pipe . it does NOT need to be insulated indoors till you go thru a wall or ceiling
MD

I realize the pipe doesn't have to be insulated. However, we just paid to have the mantle installed above the rock. I don't want the heat to dry it out, so insulated pipe to help.

A friend of mine installed some heat sheilding on his single wall to protect his walls on the closer clearance stuff.

Tipper, I don't know of anything that will work with the double walled pipe. You may be able to use double wall to single wall adapters for 1 section and install the magic heat in place of that section.
