Horizontal or vertical for you guys with splitters?

Do you use your splitter horizontally or vertically?

I love a poll. I tend to only bring medium size stuff to my yard for splitting. I chip the small stuff, dump the big somewhere else. I slice up a few peices and have a seat in front on the splitter. I have a big fan blowing on me.

This thread illustrates why I bought a Surge Master / Wallenstein that will do both vertical and horizontal. I generally only use the vertical option to break the big stuff down and then flip it up and finish it all on the horizontal. Its a nice option to have.

My splitters are lefty and righty and they really don't care for horizontal splitting lol. It would all depend on size for me. I see great production horz. If you have a table. Vertical saves the back. On one hand its prefrence on the other its condtions.

HORIZONTAL...............on a high wheel splitter. Catch pans keep everything in reach.
'Too big to lift' wood rarely finds it's way it into my truck!
