Last time I was with my wife in HD or Lowes, she pointed at the rack of saws and said, "yuck, bunch of crappy plastic homeowner garbage"!

That's my wife's way of thinking too. She recently made the mistake of telling me that she likes this hobby of mine (unlike my others) because of the reason you stated, plus the saws don't take up as much room (compared to trucks), are less expensive (Ha!), and the fellows on AS are more mature than on the other enthusiast's boards (again.......Ha!). She does keep a bit of a leash on me in the spending department....

That is why I love my wife. She said as long as she is warm, I can buy what I need. Last year a gal she works with had a big elm that she wanted out of her yard. Told the wife that I needed a bigger saw and a woodsplitter to do the job. She said go get what you need.
