This email is from the same email addy as the PayPal transaction. No, there was no fuel or oil in the saw, and I have never had a saw returned by a carrier.

The last 3 saws i bought on ebay had gas in them and fired up either in my kitchen or livingroom  ...Bob

Good luck on this one, but I think you have yourself covered. I have had some dandys, but havent had one quite like this.

Brad, I have been selling on eBay for 10 years. I don't know everything, but I do not see that you have a problem here.

You shipped UPS and have delivery confirmation.

Sounds a little like a scam, but the guy is not asking for a refund until the saw is returned. It may never show up.

If it does, inspect the saw and take it from there.

Looks like he's backing down now. He just replied through eBay messaging.

Hey Sorry. Aeropost finaly Shiped the Item. Hopping To Receive It So.

If that is true what he says, you are not responsible for "reshipping", which sounds like the case here. Good luck, ebay is a PITA, I quit selling saws there for a while, I needed a hiatus from that stuff.

I am currently selling a PM redhead woodboss on ebay now and this is an email I just got through ebay. The bidder is from another country but claims he has a Tennesse address?????????

"I bid to your two man saw,i ahve adress i Teenesse."
erik

I sure hope he does not win it as it seem fishy to me although his feedback is 38 and has bought a carb kit recently and a lot of tractor hat pins. Any reply with broken English seems suspect.
If you suspect this could be a scam by all means be wary, but I would not block the guy just be cause he does n`t speak your language very well. Here in France where I live most of the people speak no english but they are very good people to know

Cool

Most sellers on ebay will not ship international. So what people are doing is buying the saw and having it shipped to another shipping terminal. The other terminal will then ship the saw international. It's really not a scam it is just away to get around the people that will not ship this way. Here is more about the company.
Aeropost International Svcs

That's fine to use them, as long as you don't blame the ebay seller if you have trouble with shipping. Actually, I hate to get dinged for slow shipping because, once I do my part I have little control over how or when my item gets sent to the buyer. The only way to be sure would be to get in your car and deliver the item yourself and hand it to the buyer which might be expensive.

dont shut him down too fast.

some foreign buyers ship to others in USA and they forward .

I have forwarded before and have shipped many overseas.

if his feedback is good next step is get his personal email and other references to verify if you are still concerned

also get his shippers contact info.

My eBay ads all say: Shipping to Lower 48 only, please do not bid if you live in a foreign country!" Then somebody bids, who lives elsewhere and I have to deal with it. Last week, a guy from another country emailed me, through eBay, and said he had a friend in CA that would receive the item and ships to him in Sea Crates several times per year.

He bought the item and I shipped it to CA. After it arrived, he emailed me with a "thank you" and said his friend checked the item and everything is in good shape, he would receive it in a few weeks but has already left me positive feedback because I worked with him on it. The PayPal payment came directly from his account and the shipping name & address, listed in PayPal was to his friend in CA.

So far, everything worked fine, but I'm still holding my breath.........

His feedback looks good.

He said he would have a correct address that matched his pay pal account so I have not cancel his bid. I am warry though about it with his broken english. He did contact after he bid saying that even though he was from Romina he would have it shipped to US address.

I hate to block him since he could in the end help drive the price up as well. I just hope it is on the up and up.

I just know if I shipped it to a different address than the paying account I would be screwed if they started a claim against me:mad:

yours sounds like a McBob caper. :D

if you are selling older collector saws the world becomes a very small place fast.

on Ebay you have a feedback system that should tell you everything you need to know about your buyer.

ARBORSITE can tell you all the rest. :)

You will not get dinged for slow shipping if you ship within the time stated on your listing. For example say I list an item and say I will ship in 2 business days.

If I create the label through PayPal in that time frame, then the buyer does not get to rate the shipping time in the 5 star rating. It is blocked out by eBay

If I did not create the label through PayPal, but I load the tracking number, then it works the same way.

I thought this might be helpful.

You can set up your eBay account to not accept bids from Countries to which I do not ship.

You can also set it up to do not accept bids from members who do not have a confirmed PayPal account.

I learned all this the hard way.
