Can some one direct me to a porting thread that starts from the basics and describes the areas of the cylinder and exactly what needs to be done? maybe even a show and tell...Ive did a search and nothing like that really seems to come up.. maybe even a cylinder description thread that points out what is what? Thanks...Lee

vs 026

This is likely a great way to get my lightweight nimble older Stihl 025 to meet or exceed a friends Stihl 026 or the new MS261 power....

There isn't as much to do with a 025. You can widen the intake and exhaust ports, and mod the muffler. You could to a pop-up piston if you wanted to and had the know-how. The design of the cylinder/crankcase make it virtually impossible to reduce squish.

They desperately need to change the policy on stickies. Things that ought to be stickied are not, and lots that shouldn't be are. No way should forum members be able to buy a sticky with their points.

Start a poll...you have enough credits to make it a sticky.

Stumpy did a thread on working up a 290. Not an 025, but a clamshell... I ran it last weekend... It sure ain't like any Farm Boss I've ever run!!!

This should help some. There is a lot of info in this thread.
