Was just wondering if anyone has ever really took the time to value up your whole collection?
I planned on getting the calculator and pull ebay up and start counting mine up.

Value - as what? Tools for performing a job? How much money it's worth? Too many variables in that latter.

Started in Idaho, ended up in Virginia!
Yupp! And when you add up the ungodly amount of files, filing guides, spare bars, spare parts, mix oil for life, bar oil for life, protective cases, specialty tools, you just shake your head and keep quiet!

Chain grinders, saw racks, PPE, splitting maul, peavey.... I'm getting light headed:dizzy: If she really knew how much it cost to cut wood, you'd be having it delivered!!

Guess i should of been more specific.
Value of your bars&chains and chainsaws.
What I meant was that my plastic Poulans and old Mac are very valuable as tools for gathering my firewood - indispensable in fact. They allow me to avoid spending maybe $1000 a year in heating oil (at today's prices), assuming that is I buy a new tank and furnace. But they aren't worth squat financially, maybe a couple of hundred, most of that for the good B&C on the Mac.

So what are they worth? What will they be worth in 5 years?

mine is zero

I have very little and a previous break in, so I would say that my harbor freight electric saw after a bunch of use is worth about 3 bucks.

Plus most of "my friends saws" look like this.

Pretty sweet don't ya think?

and this.

Mine aren't worth much but a bunch of time.

Well I calculated all my saws.. and came up with. Just alittle under $5,000. With the B&C I just ordered I have probably another $500 in B&C
Its interesting to know what I got
But now that I know.. makes me want to insure them!!

I guess I am a lucky one. I have three keeper saws 036pro, Poulan Pro 335, and a MS192t. All have cases and I have chains out the kazoo. I also have a Stihl pole pruner HT70. The Lucky part I have bought and sold enough to where I have $0 tied up in these saws, bars, chains, tools, wedges etc..

E-Bay is often a bad judge of what things are worth. Wild fluctuations in price on any given item over the course of a year.

Just sayin'.......
