we got 125mm in 36hrs Friday/Saturday. Been on and off all last few weeks. old change today, so much so that on the drive home the Landy only reached 85*c towing 1.8t and that was a 45min-1hr run with 1/2 Hwy 1/2 city driving.

I miss-read the rain gauge, it was only 42mm here, and I think officially it actually reached 11* for three minutes when the sun came out at 11 o'clock.

It's been sleety/showery most all day, but bugger all in the gauge.

I wonder if Neil has turned into an Icy-Pole up in the hills yet ?

Run fer the hills!!!
Everybody is getting saturated and we NEED rain here. I think it hit 13° today. Pretty cool for a peak temp in our area although I do remember a few days down about 7° in the past. We'll probably be hitting about -3°C in a few night's time.

Nah you don't want that one Darren as the chain won't go in the groove on the top.

I know this is so typical of AS so brace yourself...

Are you going to mod it? I very nearly want to get a stocky just to see how good they are out of the box :)

385/390
You'll love the 390, I know I love to run my 385 (just ask Neil, hahahahahaha) incredibly smooth, well balanced and economical. I have used the 385 for years when I was cutting cypress and can fill a roadtrain after 8-9 tanks of fuel, in some areas I could get it down 6 tanks per train (with bone stock saws)

I cannot get over how much better in the AV system these saws are compared to 066/660, I can run a 385 all day with now worries, but after a couple of tank fulls through the stihl I have a hard time with the joints in my hands

Cheers
Will

I agree Will and I've run 390XP's and 660's. Unless you're running really long bars I really can't see why anybody would prefer to run a 660 over a 390XP in a felling situation apart from blatent brand bias. Maybe the odd dealer support but I'll take a 390XP anyday.
A lot of people who rave about the 660's being the best saws on the planet have never run Huskys and never intend to anyway :)

we have a dealer support issue around the area where I live now, husky shop is more interested in lawns and ####, the two stihl dealers know their stuff and it shows in the bush around the area.

Exactly the same here as well. Husky is a dead duck in our area. The dealers are more interested in selling Yamaha motorbikes and outboards and selling aluminium boats.
96% of saws in my area are Stihl and the Stihl dealers are the only ones who even know how to fix a saw.
If I relied on dealers to fix my saws I'd be running Stihls only and no Dolmars or Huskys.
