I am stoked! Just purchased a new (well 3 tanks of fuel run through her) MS 460!!!! Decent price, w/ 32" Sthil ES bar and 3 new, never used, Sthil square ground full skip chisel chains! The previous owner just added an extra port into the muffler, and a HD Sthil air filter, and retuned the carb. Not sure what that all means, if it was helpful, or how much more power she'll have. All I can say is I am filled with anxiety:msp_w00t: Hope to have it by Oct. 4th. Anyone have any suggestions on what to look for on a new, used saw? Thanks everyone for all the help!!:msp_thumbup:

Do you ever quit with the stihl bashing?

NOPE he does go overboard a awful lot

ST likes those under powered saws that the paint falls off them and the cover get stuck on the saw's :msp_tongue:

New 460 rep on the way!!!! Great saw. The vibes aren't so bad. If they were half the loggers in the PNW would not be using them. They are bullet proof when they are kept properly tuned.

I'm Norwegian and the MS 460 I've been running is a runner with a 25" "ES" b/c :msp_thumbup:

It's on my bucket list of saw's :msp_tongue:

I run Stihl 066, 046 and 044`s all day long, I have never been bothered from the vibes I hear so much about. I ran all mag solid mount chainsaws for 15 years before I got my first anti vibe saw and was not bothered by vibes on them either. A Pioneer 600 may give some reason to complain about " vibes ".

I am thinking the 32" bar might be a bit much for what I will be cutting. Prolly end up buying a 25"er for it.

Not sure but don't all gas powered saws vibrate to a point? I have run a friends ported 460 and I guess I was in such awe that I can't say for sure it was vibrating much more than my 029.

I almost forgot. They do have that technology since they bought Redmax. Guess if you can't come up with it on your own, just buy someone else's idea!:msp_tongue:

Ya be careful, if its not a husky it's not smooth enough, fast enough, and prolly too heavy for the troll. Always remember he started all the Stihl bashing back when husky finally got with the program. "They call it a Stihl because it Stihl won't start."
