Ive been reading alot about the 372 xtorqs and 2172's but nobody has really said much about how theyre holding up. Alot was talked about seeing how they would compare against the saws they were replacing but nothing more than that. So i know they've only been out about 2 years, but are they holding up well so far? If i buy one it will most likely stay stock, but not 100% sure on that yet. Also ive read that the carb screws are limited. Will that cause any issues when adjusting in stock form?

The limiters on the carb screws are easily reset.

Just push in on the limiter with something small and turn the screw past the stop

I saw pics of the screws but i have no idea what im lookin at. What part is the limiter? I know i know. Im not very mechanically inclined.....

When you look at the mixture adjusting screws, there is a thin ring between the screws and the body of the car.

You can take a scribe and push this ring in a good ways. Then you can freely turn the mixture screw - all the way out if you want to.

the xrorq uses the same bottom end as the original xp. they should hold up as goofd as there earlier version did.

Cool! Thanks fellas! Ive decided for the time being im gonna go one saw plan and get another gun or two instead of two saws. I was looking heavily at the 562xp, but im gonna go with either the xtorq or 2172 instead. And the 576at is a little more cumbersome than id like for a one saw plan.

I'd rather have a 562xp. Especially for a one saw plan! Dang saw is amazing!!!

I know rpm wise they can hang with a 372, but what about torque? Itll wear a 20" mostly but i will have a 24" too and i tend to be heavy handed.

it is stronger than the original. Maybe not with a race chain in square cookie cutting contests, but for actual use the new X-torq is stronger. The original was a 20" saw in hardwoods imo. The new XT is stronger. I run mine with a 25" ES bar.

All this talk about wieght is stupid. It is the same saw, although the piston in 3/8" taller... yeah a whole two ounces heavier.. this is where reading specs and actually having one in your hands is two different things. You can't tell any difference in weight between old an new.

The 562xp is a screamin beast with a 20" bar! It'll pull a 24" bar all day too.

The 372 will have more torque though, can't argue with 10 more cc. But the weight difference between the 562 and 372 is very noticeable. Some of us are getting older. :msp_tongue:

I was actually asking a comparasion between a 562 and new 372 with that post....but i understand what your saying.

Agreed i can still use a 372 in a tree but only for a few more years:msp_unsure:

The new xtorq has the handle a little higher and it actually feels better than the older version to me. I would like to run one for a few hours but what little I've messed with one it was nicely balanced to me.

Never had the 372xp high top in the market here in eastern Canada, the 372xpxt comes with one, turns alot of heads the other way, personally I like the 372xpxt almost as much as my 375xp, but still hate the high top.

Performance wise, on par, but gawd hate the high top.

I prefer the hightop on everything but the 576 actually. I think the traditional 372, 390, 395 look is the best looking saws out there. Then a jred 2171/72, then a 660.....

I have been running my 372 xtorq for over 18 months now and just makes short work out of whatever is thrown at it.

In that time we have had 2 hurricanes and one nasty early snow storm last year, so this saw has seen a huge amount of run time with amount of trees that needed to worked on.

I am running 20" bar with lgx or rsc chains, with a mix of XP synthetic oil and 93 octane, it has never given me any problems.

Smooth and powerful with torque that the original 372 was lacking.

My 2 cents
