First and last CL score of the year - 044

I found this 044 listed in CL last night, made a 90 mile round trip drive this afternoon, and came home with a great running 044. It's a 2000 model, so must not be the original plastic, with no decomp. It's not a beauty queen but is in great shape and runs perfectly. Idles great, great throttle response, revs out, and holds a tune. Has a brand new RS chain. What's not to like?!

I can tell by what you said and how the saw looks, that it's definitely a stolen saw.

Why don't you post the serial number so someone can check it out and make sure? We simply cannot trust you to do that yourself.

hmmmm maybe we can round up parts and you can build one ,i have a set of nos 044 10mm cases and a oem 10 jug taking up bench space ,i can look see what else i have

if its a 2000 it will be a 12mm . 10mm were the first 044 to com out i think they stop making them mid 90s but correct me if im wrong

It's a 12mm saw. I thought that it was going to be a 10mm saw, with the non-decomp cylinder shroud that's on it. But, the hole has been plugged.

Nice catch, Brad! Are you going to give it a cosmetic overhaul? Mechanical? We have a decent 10mm in the shop now. I hope I'm not around when the guy comes to get it. I know I'll try to buy it.

I plan on tearing it down for a thorough cleaning and inspection. It runs perfectly, but I will be going through it anyway.
