Great Day To Cut Firewood

I spend today with a couple of buddies working up a big oak that's been down for a year. I got to get some trigger time on my new MS362RCM along with my MS441RCM and my 660. They all got a serious workout today

Nice machine. Makes firewood gathering easier along with a whole lot of other chores.

Yes it is! After I get the wood split I place it in 40x48" industrial wire baskets and move it up to the house with the pallet forks on the tractor. I try to minimize the number of times I need to handle the splits, at least that's the goal

Nice setup. Looks like what I've been dealing with lately. Looks easier to deal with. I've got a ton of gnarled oak firewood for this season.

I was thinking they looked kind of short, I'm glad my stove takes up to 38" LOL

wow, they look so short in that 3rd pic....must be because the tree is so big. Nice wood btw.

if that wire rack is 4' wide them ain't no 22". no matter just glad I dont have to cut cookies, twice as much work and twice as much wear on chainsaws must really suck

The wood in the wire basket was from another tree. Those "cookies" were in the 20-22" range. That was a monster tree

Shop stove can take 7ft long logs, we cut to around 2ft. Much bigger an it's hard on the back handling it.
