044 10mm or 12mm

How do you tell if your o44 is a 10 mm or a 12 mm.
I have two 044s and would like to identify them.

Measure the wrist pin if it's tore down, if not I believe the 10mm is before a certain serial number and 12mm is after a certain serial number. Not exactly sure on the serial number though. Maybe a search on here would turn up those serial numbers

I think the serial number is x29 382 283 or before are 10mm

U can also tell if the bolts holding the starter cover on are small, 4 mm???

There is a noticable difference between the two in both sound and performance. If ported I am sure it would negate that. Brad is right about a 12mm bottom as it is stronger.
