Wow this just made be bust out laughing and say what the f*** is he thinking
I guess there are only so many years you can sharpen the same chain....
Ya but it turns so slow you only have to sharpen it every 10 years or soMaybe , maybe not. I am still sharpening the chain that came on my 1948 IEL AB, but its big chain....LOL
Is it the rakers that do the cutting and cutters set the depthI've only been sharpening my own chains for a few years now so I'm looking for some expert advice. A friend brought his MS180 to me - not cutting well. Looks like the chain is a little dull - think can I get one more sharpening on this?

Will a hacksaw blade sharpen that?Any idea where I can get a 1/64" file?
Yeah, just wanted to get everyone's attention. No idea what they were cutting. The clutch cover was gone and I haven't looked any further yet. I'm guessing it was doubling as a stump grinder.Wow!
What he cut with that saw? Steel?
"I've only been sharpening my own chains for a few years now......"
That's a joke, right?
Good to hear. Now I know how to test this saw when I'm done with it.I seen a chain that looked like this or worse but he was cutting railroad ties up for firewood and tried sawing thru a spike.
If it cuts through the spike without catching the saw or the tie on fire it passesGood to hear. Now I know how to test this saw when I'm done with it.
