40-1 mix in a 372 Xp and a 441?

Hello this is my first post I was wondering if 40-1 mix would be bad for my 372xp and 441, I use husqvarna xp mix, i don't run them professionally I just cut a lot of 24" plus dead oak, I try to make sure they are properly tuned.

Yup.....a 40:1 mix is good to go.

I use canned fuel.

Why not just use the manufactures recommended 50-1 ?

Cause that would be silly. All the manufacturer is trying to do is meet emissions requirements, not prolong crank life.

Canned fuel is silly, unless you can’t buy non-ethanol premium.

IMO.

I do keep canned fuel on hand in the event of an emergency situation where you neglected to fill the 2-cycle can with recreational fuel and there’s no power at any gas station.

I use canned fuel cause until last May, I wasn't able to get E-Free gas anywhere in my area.

That, and the fact my canned fuel was free. I've got about 8 quarts to go until my stock of it is gone.

As said in another post 40/1 ratio will do your saw & more so the bottom end no harm & possibly lengthen it"s life span we find that in commercially used saws All grades of fuel in our area is E free so that problem is a none starter Canned fuel is good if the saw stands for periods of time or is not used much but to use it in quantity the cost is prohibitive to a trying to make money setup

If your 372 is an XT they like 32:1 even better.

Don't forget to re-tune, changing your mix ratio changes your air/fuel mix

I've been running 40-1 since I got my 1978 husky 480 cd in 1979. Original piston and ring.

Is it really that important to re-tune when going from 50:1 to 40:1 ? it seems like a very small increment.

Doing it and not needing it takes what? A minute? What are the consequences of it needing it and not doing it?

Just a question that's all. Percentage wise going from 50 to 40:1 it seemed very small.
