I've posted this before here, but with all the talk and photos of P series saws lately, I thought I might post it again. P50 with a 28" b/c in red cedar. Now it has a foam filter with a V-stack, haven't run it in over a year and a half unfortunately.... :(

In case you are wondering what I did with that cedar, I cut the flare off then milled it into large 16" x 16" blocks to make end tables with.

Hey Fellas
WoW 620 pages and still going strong, Amazing ! Okay have not been on here in quite awhile life has brought changes . I'm looking for a new bar for my P41 Western. The original bar is trash it's a Pioneer 507475848 28 SSW 50 92x 3/8 but I have two new chains for the present bar .I was thinking I could buy the same NOS bar if I could find one maybe ebay or should I just buy a another brand of bar . P.S. I have all the number information concerning the present bar as to what all the numbers mean but the manual is buried in the garage some place so if someone would care to help that would be great !
Thanks

I want to thank you for starting this thread. I think it's the best thread around. I might be a bit biased lol. As far as the bar goes maybe Jerry could help you out in that department.

Where in bc are you western?

That might be a P38 those blue prestolite coils came with that model hand also some P39 the P39 ad both prestolite coils and phelon coils some one must of switched things around the only way to check is to measure the bore

what about the serial number on the front by the falling spike? Would that help? The orange paint on the coil looks like the color of the p39, p45 saws. Could be someone tried to the fix spark with other parts.

The serial numbers aren't really traceable unfortunately. The prestolite coils are the same mount pattern as the newer phelon coils on the p42. Use a pop cycle stick to get a bore measurement on it. It just might be a p42 western with a few parts swapped around. Is there another sticker with numbers or letters on it? If so that would help for sure.

No sticker up by the handle on top. Interesting that my P61 western has the sticker on top and no ID tag but this saw has the opposite. Looks identical to my P61 Western, just smaller. Is the bore size different between the P40 41 42?
