You are correct in that I should have specified that, however, I just assume if not speaking about a saw specifically or specifically talking about older saws, I assume we're talking about current or very close to current. My fault, I'll try to be more specific in the future....snip...
So, no, not all brakes are inertia driven. Current production saws from stihl/husky are.
As for the second part of my post, that's how current production saws are designed, manufactured, and tested. I take it you disagree that the manufacturers have achieved that?
