Well while Im impatiently waiting on parts, I did a little more cleaning up of parts, and switched the crank from the 6 bolt case to the 5 bolt and installed new bearings I forgot I had.

The crankcase looked like it spent some time in water, but it cleaned up pretty well.

And then I noticed somebody had removed the serial number plate.

It might make it a little harder to sell but I may not sell it anyway. This will be the saw built from the leftover parts (free saw), so I'm not too concerned.

Then moving on to the worse of the 2 cylinders I got. The corrosion on this is pretty bad, but it looks great inside. Which is amazing since the pin that lines up the piston ring was broken off in the piston that came out of this cylinder. Either way, Its going to take a dust mask and a wire brush to get this one looking good.

And then while I was at it, I gave the muffler a new paint job with some flat high temp paint. Before anybody says it, I will do a muffler model after I know this saw will run.

I do have a question for you autotune guys. Is there a way to bench test the carb and coil combo so I dont have to pull the parts back out if they are not correct, they were all disconnected when I got them?

I dont think you can test auto tune coils or carbs. I may be wrong.

My 562 has one rivet that fell out so there only 1 rivet holding the name plate on. Maybe the plate fell off or ypur saw was warrantied and the plate was removed by the dealer..

The muffler mod I did on my 562 was fairly simple and the saw seems to not only out pull a stock 562 but it runs cooler to.

All i did was grind the baffle hole at the inlet to be about 3x the size and then I ground a second outlet hole next to the factory hole under the deflector.

That way I can still run the factory spark arrestor and my saw looks stock. It doesnt sound stock, its pretty loud but I like that.

The carb and coil can be hooked up to a computer out of the saw to see specs and current firmware. The missing plate is because someone ordered that bottom end from husky. New ones don’t come with a badge. The five bolt are know to fail so husky upgraded it to a six which is why a complete bottom end is so cheap to buy. Trying to cover there ass

The coils and carbs can be taken alone to a dealer and matched up and flashed. If you have trouble or have to pay I have a great dealer that will help and I know of another guy that just got the software.
Tha is for all the responses guys. I will call the only dealer near me and see if they can do this. Hopefully the carbs and coils are good. Can they test that too, well not the carb but the module?

Maybe I'm silly but I'd just build the saws, install the coil and carb and see what she does.

Look for problems if theres no spark.

The auto tune stuff is a little different. Coil has to match the carb. Or will need programmed. Dealers can look up run time, faults, operation tests, and updates firmware. Don’t ask me anymore specifics than that. I had an issue with the el46 carb once on a ported saw which forced me to learn a few things about these newer saws

I've built a couple of junksaw builds that were auto tune so I know just enough to be dangerous.

But to me if he has 2 coils and 3 carbs it only takes what 5 mins to swap a coil. I guess if the dealer is close it may be worth the trip to go. Ill bet 1 coil matches 1 carb x2

I made my 576xp into a auto tune by only swapping the carb out to an at carb. Maybe the second gen are different some how.

Dang those zoomed in pictures really make the parts look worse than they actually are. And the poor lighting in my garage made that muffler look better in person than it does in that picture. Oh well.

Just saw that my new crankcase will be delivered today, just sucks that the needle bearings for the wrist pin will not be here for a while. I ordered them from SLE on Wednesday and still have not gotten a shipping confirmation. Which means this saw wont be up and running by the time my Christmas vacation is over.

"it only takes what 5 mins to swap a coil"

Your a whole lot faster than me. The wires are routed under the flywheel and the ground wire is is buried in the carb box.
I don't think the autotune software can determine if the module produces spark. It checks the carb's solenoid and for full throttle position.
If you assemble the saw and have at it, at least copy the coil number down to match to the carb if it doesn't fire. The software reads the carb model number but not the coil.
I would still want to update the software even if it runs upon build completion.

Exactly, this is why I was wanting to bench test it. I knew it would be a nightmare to swap coils. Carbs, not so much.

I dont find swapping coils on my 562 that hard. Its just different.

I guess it depends how you pull the flywheel, wether its fast or not.

I was going to update my 562 once i got it running. It did run strange for the first couple heat cycles.

Once I put it to wood and ran a couple tanks through it the AT seemed to settle down. My saw runs perfect hot or cold, runs nice and rich the min you pull her up from the wood. So I'll admit Ive never plugged it in, runs roo darn good to mess with it.

If you have a dealer close Id update the software just for peace of mind..

I have a few left over parts from when I built a couple saws. If you need anything feel free to ask. Can have them at shipping cost.
Thabk you, I may have to take you up on that. I am pretty sure I'm ok on the first saw, but the second one seems to be missing little misc. parts.

Well I think I know why I never see Pro Huskies go up for sale in my area. The only dealer near me did not have a single part I needed in stock, and when asked about flashing the module, he said they can do it. I asked how much they charge and he said "$110 an hour" and I asked how long it would take, and he said "an hour and a half" What!!!! I will just try a combination and if it doesn't work, swap the carb. Not paying $300 to get two modules flashed.

And the most annoying thing is, I could have one saw up and running by Monday if I could find the wrist pin bearing, but nobody has one, so I ordered one from SLE, and they said it would be 3 days until the order is processed, and 2 more days to ship it, so there is no chance of it getting here during my holiday break.
