$239 plus 77 shipping and 45 days to get here and it's blue not orange.
I'm not having any trouble passing it up. They have it in kit form which is orange. I would do one of those if it were cheaper.

Well first and foremost it is not OE... but then again neither is the price....
This is manufactured with aftermarket parts. Does that mean they are inferior parts?? not necessarily.. will they be as good as OE? Probably not... Will it last as long? Not enough time has passed to tell yet...
All that being said, I ran a G372 not long ago, No issues at all. Only thing I would change is to put an OE carb back on it. Aftermarket carbs have been hit or miss for me in the past.. As for the ret of the saw...no issues at all...I think it had a Hyway cylinder kit on it ( but not 100%) If you ever had any issues with parts on it, you could always swap them back to OE piece by piece. I would say that putting an OE starter on it rather quickly would be a good idea..

Overall, these saws are a good deal for someone who wants OE performance but doesn't use a saw enough to pay OE price.
Just be cautioned that they WILL require some tinkering.. (mainly with carb). If you are capable of working on them yourself and dont' mind it...then it might be worth it to you.

On a side note, if you look around you can find these in stock in the US. (Wagners saws) comes to mind... At leat if you buy from them you are giving "some" money to a local business.

I have the G372. Cuts and runs very well and I did not have to tinker with the carb - could be luck of the draw. Don't know how long it will last. I've only had mine about 2 years or so and have not used it a lot, but a friend who uses Stihl 361s and 661s was impressed. Parts availability should not be an issue since the whole saw is interchangeable with the 365 Husky.

I agree with slimbo's assessment - if I was a logger I doubt I would chance it, but for a homeowner who occasionally needs a bigger saw it can be a good deal.

Lots of folks spew criticism because it's chinese, but I am betting most of them have never run the saw. When I was a kid they said the same thing about anything made in Japan. How many of those people drive Hondas or Toyotas now?

I have most of the oe older huskys I want. I’m winding down cutting, my logging days are over, my sons cut now, it’s something to play with. I have a husky 372 Xp and a husky 272xp all apart in the rebuilding process.

It’s my to me from me Christmas present. I really want the husky but the $$ turns me off if I was still in the firewood business I’d jump on it.

Ordering mine before this coming weekend

Farmertec was suppose to offer bigger cc saws by November. I guess the 288 is one of them. I was hoping to see a 394 or 395 too.
Amazon is offering farmertec saws with free ship but no g288 yet, I emailed them about offering the g288. Maybe it will cut down a few $$ on the $77 shipping.

I just read a farmertec post there offering the g395 And g3120 soon. Everything husky discontinues.

If the 288 is as good as the 372 I’ve used for the last 2 years it’ll be well worth it. Admittedly the carb was an issue I just bought a used 372 carb and solved that problem. The 372 is a truck saw and so far no issues other than the carb. I use a Tsumura 2’ bar and chipper chain. Added the bar a year later. Funny thing is it weighs as much as my pro Mac 700. The Mac will still run with the Covid Special!

I'd like to see them clone the Dolmar 7910 but probably not enough demand for it

I'm gonna wait till they offer a full wrap handle for it, I think they kinda missed the mark by releasing it with the half wrap. Part of the allure of the communist saws are the hard to find parts that were abandoned by their oem makers years ago and now only offered by proctologists with no lube.
Honestly if the hoarders of parts would offer the stuff at a sane price there probably wouldn't be much demand for the AF saws?
But just like the crooked dealer and shops that told your grandfather that his 3100 homelite wasn't worth fixing and sold him a MS180 or a rancher 455 with a 30$ trade in ,I sleep pretty good at night.

I still have my dads super 250 Macs use em for bucking big oak. I’m pretty sure a 385 full wrap handle will fit it $39 at

I bought a blue prebuilt one as I like getting the free power coating myself. Lot of folks pay big $$$ to change the colors of their saws now days.
I paid for the express plane shipping and goes out Monday they said.

I only bought it to check out myself. Plus to have as a demo saw for locals.
Not even into this series. Even though I owned a 181 thin ring I later sold.
Just want to see how it compares to the 385xp and 660. If it cant cut with those IMHO it will go down the road too.

They also sale them in kits in all orange with the orange high top cover too. https://www.farmertec.com/Husqvarna-288-Complete-Saw-Repair-Kits-c29264.html

Ordered a built saw also I’ll check timing first and make any adjustments if needed. Friend has a 385. We’ll compare em in 24” oak. I did order a domed piston for it just to be different. If it holds up like the 372 I bought last year I’ll be pretty happy

I like the blue color too.
