Yup , it’s been in the 40’s to low 60’s during daytime for at night it dips below freezing , but haven’t had any significant cold weather in a while, ground hasn’t frozen solid to any real depth to speak of.

we are back into the a/c mode down here. and for then next week or so...

Hectic morning here, my neighbor (whose shop I borrow) is coming up to his place a day and a half early as to avoid the storm that will hit southern and central MN. Therefore I needed to get my 3 sleds and a truck out of his garage so he can use it. It was a brisk walk over there in -20 temps but got things moved.

You've been here a long time, you see and hear things others might miss. The only way people can make a clear judgment is if they are in fact given the facts and can make a decision based on that. Right or wrong we all make choices based on only the information we have received. Being locked or deleted out seems to be my speciality. I've got no where to go but up. It will never be a losing proposition now for me anyway. My family won't be missing anymore income based on bad rep given out repeatedly by Randy Evens who has no skin in it. Once you've been threatened you know it will never stop when left unchecked. History always repeats itself....
It's just a matter of, time... good tune there

I tried to read your other thread, but then it was locked and then much of it was deleted. I can’t say that I fully understand what’s going on, but you certainly seem to be trying to make things transparent for everyone.

I had significant trouble with Randy and his henchmen myself back when I was a moderator of this site. When he tried to lead his great exodus out of here, he did his best to discredit the moderators and site owners while acting like he was the victim of some great conspiracy; when in reality he was the one spinning the scheme to mislead people. He’s a narcissist and manipulator of the first order. For anyone who doesn’t believe me… Watch the way he deals with people over at his place and how so many people come and go… One minute they are his best friend, “bro”, “brother”, “cuz”, etc, and the next minute they are on the outs, never to be heard from again. Everything is fine and dandy until someone disagrees with him or he feels threatened by them. No, I’m not going to say that he doesn’t know his stuff about saws, runs a bad business, or won’t help all the fellow in need, because he certainly does those things well. But people need to understand that he’s not this happy go lucky good old boy that he tries to portray.

Some people make a life out of acting like that….manipulating and bullying people into getting their way. I have no interest in that BS. To each their own.

I wish you the best in figuring out your situation, and I know there’s a lot of people who feel the same as I do so I wouldn’t worry too much about Randy slamming you… people who believe him would never do business with you anyway because they’re buffaloed by his line of BS.

Anyone heard anything from @Lightning Performance since last weekend?

This may not have been the best location to air grievances but at the same point I have a major problem with how Randy tries to slander a man every time he gets sideways with someone (which happens quite often). He reminds me of the schoolyard bully who always picks fights then blames the other person....there is a reason why trouble closely follows certain people lol

I musta missed it too. I have 2 1/2 mills. Bridgeport, Hardinge horizontal, and a spindle that attaches to my lathe slide. The once extremely grungy Hardinge sat in the corner on a dolly for 30 years. A few years ago I cleaned it up to sell it, but I looked so nice I couldn't sell and kept it.
I home brew CNC'ed my lathe in the 80's and did a ton of production work on it. Some of the recurring work required lathe and mill/drill work, so I sped things up and mounted a removable spindle on the lathe slide for those jobs.

The spindle came from a scraped Moog which was a highly modified NC Bridgeport that moved the axis's with hydraulics and read the programs from paper tapes.
The spindle uses tool holders similar to a 30 taper but a Moog design. BTW, the blue bellows (lower center) is a fork boot for a Honda XR200 and it protects the ball screw that drives the X axis.

The spindle is driven with a heavy not so flexible drive which hooks to a variable speed DC motor (box right center) that slides back and forth on a rail following the X axis movement. My program turns the DC motor on/off when needed.

Nice BP mill, also a very nice Hardinge. I used to work for a shop that owned a Hardinge collet lathe that was super precision from the 1960’s. I will own that little lathe if they ever get rid of it.

Need to let me know like 2 years in advance, first I'd have to put in for vacation a year in advance just to try and get off, then it would take me 2 years to satisfactorily hand sharpen even one square chain by hand.. ok may be not that long, but it sure takes me a while.

Who says they they have to be square grind. Why not four categories? Square and round. Hardwood and conifer!

Id like to think most of us in this thread take for granted we all keep up with the depth gauges when sharpening. Really from hacks like me to the pros that frequent this thread we all seem to have a reasonable grasp on sharpening chains. Such our quibbles for round vs Square, semi vs full chisel is idle bickering. We all do what suits our needs best. I know as long as I've been running saws and sharpening chains there's always better then me out there, but I can make a mean chain in my own right.

they have a Block List here on this site. once a subscriber is added, then the format always auto deletes/bars that subscriber's posts... for the holder of the block list...

i wish they had a Like List... then one could add a name... and even if a post by them is missed.... then it would Auto UP a Like for the subscriber's post.

(maybe a mod will read this post, and that change can be implemented... pdq!!)
