Not sure if it's something I'm doing, but I never had this problem with the 345 and a 16" bar.
I have a new 545 (also a bit of a hard starter compared to my other stuff, which I suppose is a separate problem) that cuts well until I get into anything even slightly larger than the bar. As soon as I do, the bar binds up with wood chips getting stuck between the bar and the chain on the sprocket. I always keep the chain sharp, sprocket greased, chain tension "snappy".
Again, I never had this problem with a 16" bar (or any other bar for that matter), just this one.
Also, thinking about swapping the bar off for one of those fancy 20" lightweight jobs I've seen on here, any recommendations or suggestions are always appreciated .
