Heck I thought maybe you just fell the tree right over the fenders onto the trailer, then you bucked it up to save on loading time!:biggrinbounce2:
Wanna hear a funny story along those lines?
Buddy borrowed my trailer a year or so back. Was going to haul some wood, and generally he is a good guy, so i told him go ahead.
A week later I happened to look out his backyard at my trailer, and there were a dozen holes through all the floor boards.WTF?
When I finally managed to get to my feet and get my hands unwrapped from around his neck, he confessed to what he did.
He was cutting up on top of a steep bank, with a sharp drop off down to the road.Try as hard as he could, he wasnt able to pull the trailer on up to to the top because of the steep hill and the mud, so he figured that it would be easy enough to park the trailer down on the hill and let the rounds roll down the hill and drop into the trailer.
"Ed, you should have seen it, it was perfect.I bucked a round off the log, it would drop, hit the ground, and roll right down the hill and land in the trailer.I thought I had hit the mother load when I realized I had cut and loaded a cord and half of red oak in less than 40 minutes. After loading up the saws, we headed back to town and i was feeling pretty fresh until I glanced in the side view mirror and noticed a round bouncing all over the highway. Pulled over, looked the trailer over, and didnt see any more rounds that looked like they would fall out. Nearly got hit trying to get that round off the highway, but finally was on the way again when dang it, there went another round!"
"couldnt figure it out, everything looked like it was well in place until I noticed a hole in the floorboards. Then another. And another one. Had to call my brother to run to Home Depot for some plywood, deliver it to me out on the highway, unload the trailer, lay the plywood down, and reload the wood. Took me four hours to get home."
My response? "Well, just think how much time its going to take you to pull all those floor boards up and replace them all....."
