Loops can be made in any length.

Some guys mill with 3/8 low profile chain ( couple of threads on this), and may want the longer loops.

To make things worse, Oregon makes a full sized 3/8 pitch chain they call 'LP', that does not mean 'low profile'!

I know it varies but my .325 18" chains on my Echo and Maruyama are 72 dl. My Echo 490 20" is 78dl.

My apologies, the heading did state 3/8, not .325. And I get on the grandkids for not reading correctly!!

My 20" LP bar from LCS. Not 72DL though. ;) They had 68DL and 70DL LP listed at one time.

With 3/8 7T rim 68DL was to short and 70DL was to long. 69DL chain was just right.

Is that picture what you call just right? The bar tail is even with the edge of the clutch drum. Oil feed placement the reason you do not want it any closer to the sprocket.

I actually bought a couple of those at the earlier price. I think I went 67 for 6 tooth and 68 for 7 tooth. Maybe I ground the tail just a bit to make it work, the Stihl chain is pre stretched, it does make a difference when it is close. Inboard clutch does have it's advantages if things are tight. Kind of heavy the Genuine Stihl bar that calls for 61 but works good with 62 on the 7 tooth drive is the one I use most of the time. I modify bars not mufflers and porting.

I know this is an old thread, but this is one of the only references that comes up when someone is searching for a 3/8” LP bar. So, to make it easier for other people, since all the links above are dead.

Cannon 20" SuperMini Chainsaw Bar (72 Drive Links) CSM-H1-20-50-3LM

And there is even one available that is 32" long!
