My 288 started leaking fuel when layed over to fuel up. I pulled the air filter and found the fitting on the carb that the fuel line pushes on is twisting in the carb. I havent pulled the carb to look closer. Is there any way to fix this?

Are you positive that's where the leak is. Usually when it leaks when laid on the clutch side it is the tank vent. If it is the elbow a new one may be able to be pressed in or the old one can be cleaned up and re inserted with some loctite or motoseal, or some fuel safe sealant.
