I have slipped smaller clamps underneath the partition clamp and clamped directly around the boot. It seals very solid like this. I believe this one was from an 1125 Stihl.

That ^ looks like a better solution than the bigger clamp to me. I did the same thing on one but removed all of the plastic clamp. However, the clamp I had was too bulky, and I ended up replacing it with the updated boot kit and using the pita clamp.
