G,day all, I've got a Husky 371XP that only backfires and stalls when you go to pull on the trigger once it has fully warmed up. It is fine up until then. It will start first pull and will idle but with a bit of a hunt. If I try ever so slightly to pull the trigger it just backfires and stalls. I changed the base gasket, checked the seal behind the flywheel, stripped carby, new plug, changed fuel filter. Anyone got any idea's? Thanks.

errr, I got no idea but thought I'd say G'day.

Good to see another Aussie onboard.

I had a similar thing happen with a 335, it was crankcase seals. But these guys will sort it.

Air leak or spun flywheel. I've got a saw I now buy the keyway half a dozen at a time.

Sounds like it is tuned far too lean.

Did you try richening the low and High mixtures?

Only time Ive ever had a 2 stroke backfire was a Larger Homelite Timberman. It would fire right up, and it idled funny...but if you punhed the throttle it would pop and shut off... If you slowly accelerated it, it would rev up, then pop many times, loudly, then die.

It was running lean, and had a leak somewhere. Saw wasnt worth fixing.
