the throttle cable on my 371 will not stay in the holder on the trigger.

How much of the outer sheath should be through the clamp on the trigger?

Can I use superglue to help hold it in place, or should I buy a new trigger?

About 3/8's of an inch.
It sounds like the cable may be sticking in the outer sheath, you could clean the sheath and trigger then use a small amount of superglue on the outside of the sheath, make damn sure you don't get any superglue on the cable or you will be buying a new throttle cable assy. What I have done before is squeeze the outer sheath about 3 places with needle nose pliers then re-insert it into the trigger. You may try this fix first before resorting to the superglue fix. JMHO

Sounds like some thing is dry. Spray the pivot points on the trigger, spring on carb, cable and the trigger spring if there is one with some WD-40..
