372 Oiler Adjustment is Backwards?

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that my oiler is not acting as it should... I adjusted it turning it counter clockwise in the direction of the + and I there seemed to be less oil. So after a test I adjusted it more. It would barely even spray oil off the chain. I took the clutch cover off to make sure no chips were blocking the passage and I turned it as far as it could go in the + direction. Then I tried turning it clockwise and that seemed to solve the problem. It was weird...

Check to make sure the spring clip is in place just below the adjustment screw.
