(man that was to easy)

No its supposed to be limited by the choke/air vane...now it is limited by the fact the Breakerless ignition has gone out.

I have a good TS-350 to swap the coils, also now have a Spare Tilly HL-166A.

Anyone ever swapped a big Tilly onto a stock saw, like say a Tilly 314G?

Took Lake's advice, taped tach to saw. In cut, she was running
8,000 rpm

Cut some Bur Oak Cookies :)

Lake is there a particular model of 088/MS880 that is best for my use? I would use it falling and bucking redwood and fir. It would not get alot of use but I want to be able to run a 4' bar and 404 chain, mostly for redwood. Or would I be better off with an 084 or an 090? Let's pretend cost is not an issue and that my wife will never find out.

What is important is availabilty. I will need to make this purchase in the next week or 2.

There is only one model of MS880 available... with a few bar options. iFcost is not an issue, buy new.

The 084 is hard to find in good shape (and parts...), and the 090.. well, if you like antiques..:)

I like my 088, it handles a 41” bar with 404 chisel chain just fine. RPM’s are right around 12,300, it seems to like it.
