Still searching for the scales they use at Stihl… I’ve never once had a saw weigh what the specs say they should. I need their scales for my bathroom…
Interesting bar length comparison with 880 vs 881.
Also curious is the differences in additional weight for wrap handles - from 0.2 lb to 0.9 lb.
Are you weighing the head only with completely dry tanks?

Is it possible up north with the way it spins up here, Sthil weighing objects the pressure spinning create objects lighter. While you living down under (implies more weighted pressure) the spin goes opposite direction causing objects to appear heavier than actually are?

That’s what I’ve noticed also.
If only there was a way to determine if the Oiler puts out less oil than the 880.
If only there was a way someone could measure the output of the oilers, or better yet, there was a published spec on the outputs.

Stihl usually publishes a number for the oil output. For example, the 088 shop manual says "Adjustable17- 38 cc/min (0.6- 1.3 fl.oz/min) at 10,000rpm"
I haven't seen an 881 manual, so nothing to compare to.
Whether one puts any trust in Stihl's numbers is a whole 'nother discussion.

Not that it matters, but I could have sworn on the Stihl site it claims that the 462 has 6.0 BHP.
Your recollection is not wrong. Right now Stihlusa.com shows the 462 C-M as 6.0 BHP but the 462 C-M R as "only" 5.9 BHP.
