That's a cylinder for one of the early large industrial Homelite engines used on gensets, water pumps, and the like. Big sucker.

This Homelite Super 1050 Automatic came to me three weeks ago but I had not had a chance to mess with it. Fueled it up and it was running on the 5th pull.

Really diggin the old saws.
I just rescued this not truly antique, but still hard to get parts for, girl from under my Dad's bench. We used it to clear my parent's lot through the 70's and 80's. MANY tons of oak, cherry, maple, and sycamore have passed under its chain.....and a few locust trees(grrrr) as well. Hoping to put it back to work this week.
A little old saw update....got the bar trued and deburred, had a couple chains cut to fit and took it out to clean up some wood left behind by the power company for my friends campsite. Lots of old douglas fir and white pine measuring 30+ inches across, so it was light soft wood, but large and I had to cut it down to cubes to load it up in the old truck. The old girl didn't complain once. Also cut up some gum maple that was laying in a dead fall to take for the campfire as well. Lets just say I have more motor than clutch, and that may be the next issue addressed. This weekend she's going after some white oak, hickory, and choke cherry. Thanks Dad!

Anyone in here have any experience with a McCulloch 1-85? I may be able to pick one up off of a neighbor (who's the original owner) who got it shipped to from from the factory by his daughter in law (and Mac employee at the time). I have no idea on the bar length or the chain pitch but it's either 1/2" or .404 and somewhere around 25" long... Is $100 out of line?
Bryan if it is complete and not busted up, buy it for that price and if you decide you don't like it, call me.

Your saw is a "Sportsman" I know your rear handle is different then the one on Mikes site. Your handle may of been changed at some point.

Really nice Lombard AP-42 type with vibration isolation. Prolly late '70s. Not many show up.
