Hi, I just want to know if the ignition coils are different between them. I have two MTD trimmers, one with a 25cc engine and the other with a 31cc engine, the ignition coil of the second just stop working. And I used the ingntion coil of the first but do not work, the cylinder have the compression in 93 psi.

So the question is Do I have to buy the original ingnition coil?

Thanks!

That is really low compression. How did you determine you had no spark?

Plug out of cylinder but pushed against the metal of the cylinder as a ground?

I doubt you will get anything to run very good with that low of compression.

I would remove the muffler and check for scoring on the piston before spending any money on it.

The ignition coil do not send the spark, the cylinder, ring and piston are fine, I just want to know if between ignition coils have differences, for power of the spark, for this and that ...
