If you knowanyone who works in a steel mill, they have something called scarfing powder, and it comes in a 3 1/2 gallon bucket. I have 2 of those and they work real good. I have my stove high enough so I can scrape ashes out right into the bucket.
I also have a 5 gallon galvanized wash tub. It works the same way. You can still find wash tubs, but you'll have to go to a real hardware store.
