i have a friend in central Oregon the needs a slope cleared of its scrub juniper. i know the it is extremely hard on saws but is there a better way to clear them.

maybe a spool of det cord like they used in Vietnam.

I think det cord would be considered an explosive now, and probably be illegal.
Just get a good Stihl/Husky/Dolmar saw of your choice, and go at it.

A straight shaft string trimmer, equipped with a fine toothed saw blade,
or a Beaver blade works nicely on scrub trees 3 inch diameter or less.

A fun, noisey method that leaves ugly stumps is a 12 gauge shotgun with bird shot from about three yards. :)

Depending on the slope, get a forestry mower. Its the best way unless you have 4-5 good saw teams to pay and have a way to get rid of the brush. :umpkin:
