This red oak at our church needed to come down. It was dropping limbs and was full of ants. We had a pro rope it down and fell the trunk, as it was close to the building and leaning.
So I serviced up the fleet and had the guys meet me on a Sat. morning to get to work.
This was the first use of the newly rebuilt 084. I put a dual port muffler on it, and the late model carb that has a part load jet in it, and set it a little rich, with the 47" bar and chain, to break it in.
This was the first time I ever cut with a 120cc saw with a long bar, and it was a blast! It just pulls and pulls, with no effort at all. Set the bumper spike, and let it feed itself in.
Even with the entire bar in the cut, pulling chips, it just cruised along. I ran 8 tanks of fuel through it cutting this trunk into manageable pieces, and the saw performed flawlessly. My first rebuild of a big saw has turned out to be very satisfying and enjoyable.
We ended up with a lot of firewood.
