My vote is for the larger Stihl dogs that come with the full wrap saws. Maybe they come in a kit with a roller chaincatcher. I personally think the bigger Bailey's aftermarket dogs are over the top.

Actually I bought my 066 and 395 each with the big dogs (full wrap) and in big wood I like the extra length of the 395's dog. Keep my brake out of the wood better in really big stuff.

That's a gripe I have about my 5100. Only a single dog. Heck, even my Stihl electric has double dogs.

I have the half wrap 440 and I checked out baileys. I'm not sure if their pro dogs for the 044 will fit mine. Thanks

The reason I mentioned full wraps is around here the full wraps generally come with larger dogs. The dogs themselves have nothing to do with the handlebars, and in the past I've put both longer and short dogs on various saws. I've stuck with the OEM husky and Stihl dogs.

I'm just saying that the Bailey big dogs are too big to suit me personally, so I would stick to ordering large Stihl dogs. Someone else will know if they are available or not, but I am guessing they are. I think Lakeside mentioned earlier that larger dogs for the 441 are available in a kit that includes a roller chaincatcher. I cite this as an example.

Do a quick search on this site.. there have been hundreds of posts about dogs..

In short -

Use the big 066 dogs, and you can get them from your stihl dealer.

1122 664 0501
1122 664 0506

and the roller kit - 1122 650 7700

get the stihl nuts and bolts also

I'm not sure Bigger Dogs are the safest way to go........

Here're the ones from Madsen's. I like 'em. Not too big and not too little. A lot thicker than the stockers, too.

Yup, those are the 4 pointers. My bailey's ones are 5 pointers, and they too are a lot thicker than stock. Husky's you can get 4 or 5 pointers off bailey's. Stihl's are only 5 point off baley's. I think all the sets off bailey's are around 20-25 bucks.:) :greenchainsaw:

I gotta get me a pair of those dogs for my lil Echo CS330T with 12" bar arb saw!!!!
