View attachment 260007View attachment 260008I miss almost all of them. I keep selling a MS 460 and then have to buy another. The one I miss the most is the 088 that I refurbished. Dang it that thing went to Cali and I'll never get it back
Yeah I hear that... i rebuilt this one from 4 different saws, then just decided to replace EVERYTHING with Stihl parts. I haven't added up all the receipts, but the only thing I reused was the case, tank and jug... I wanted to use it on my Chainsaw mill 5-6 years ago... Brad Snelling bought all the remains that I had, along withmy 066 redlight. that was before he even knew what a ported saw was... lol.
Its kinda bittersweet i guess.. life goes through stages... I'm thinking about doing the same thing with my car collection too... i don't have too, but i don't need 4 or 5 toys.. I can barely keep the one I have cleaned... one has been an on going 8 year project... Have every single part to finish it, just didn't have a place for a long time.. now that I have the place I just want it gone, but a personal goal is to get it together. Much like saws, Cars don't have much investment.. worth more parting out than they are together. (1986 GT Vert 37K mile Geogia, full cage, 342 Stroker, big blower, full suspension, full on best of the best... I prolly have 20K in it and would be lucky to get 10K out of the complete running car... Then there is the first mustang (my 66 coupe) that started my future of wrenching... It eventually led to my father and I's restoration business "Mid-Ohio Mustang".. I will never sell that as that is kinda what made me who i am and where I am in life is due to alot of that drive and motivation.
anyhooters the 084... lost all the original pics... haven't ran it, not even once... rebuilt the carb and was walking over to install it and put the finishing touches on it, when I dropped it and broke the plastic fuel inlet fitting 4-5 years ago and she has sat in a box since then... I even had an extra Jug and piston for it so i could port it if I ever wanted to get into racing it....
