Can I tank a piston and cylinder off a 2153 and put it on my 2149 and my 2149 run like a 2153
Yup, you sure can. 2149 is the same saw as a Husky 351. Mag case with an open transfer cylinder, so you do not need a riser like you would if you converted a 350/2150. Bolt it on and go.Can I tank a piston and cylinder off a 2153 and put it on my 2149 and my 2149 run like a 2153

Out of them 3 cylinders what one do you want for yourselfNot all of the 2149's had the open port cylinder. I ported many of those saws when they were new. I have seen 3 different cylinders on new out of the box 2149's. I have many of the open port, I had a few with closed port and I had 3 that had the close quad port transfers. I tried to order those cylinders and no part number could ever be found for them. Every time I trade in a 2149 I check for the quad ports. I want one for myself. All of those cylinders had the 44mm bore.

That surely is a mystery, as there were no other models that used a 44mm closed port (not to say a quad) top end with the 32.5mm stroke...
Maybe they experimented with it, before settling for the 45mm bore of the 353/2152, and used the 2149 as the "test vehicle"?
It very well could have been a few test saws. I just wish that I had a record of the build dates of those saws. If I ever find another quad port 2149 it will never leave here.

The 2149 wasn't around for long, very quickly replaced by the 2150 Jubilee Edition, same saw just new name.
I just took the top off my 2149 and it is set up like the 2159/359 4 little screws and you can take the side cover off one on each side so I would say it's the quad port so I'm hoping that is the better cylinder to have. View attachment 333795View attachment 333796
