Do you have to find and deal with queens for each section in order to split?
I did walkaway splits. Give each side equal amounts of eggs, larvae, capped brood, honey pollen and the queenless hive should raise their own queen if things work out as they should. It doesn't matter which side the queen goes or stays in. Local queens are hard to find around here.
