I just came in from the rain with my catch of fish, and PBS was
on the tv, a show called Ask this Old House, and they were
showing the viewers how to sharpen chains, and called in
someone from Husqvarna to help. His last name was Eerd
or Aard, or something Teutonic. He had a large model of a chisel
and had a file guide, and thick gloves.
It looked like it might help some folks, so I have mentioned it.

He used a flat file to remove the damage before finishing with
a round file.

Fish it must have been Tim Ard of Forestapps

It's funny you mentioned he uses a flat file to remove the damage and then finishes with a round file it took me a minute to realize I do the same thing, since I don't have a bench grinder yet..

later Rob.
