Hi-I am a new member here. Anyhow I work in Colorado for the 10th Mountain Hut system huts.org. We cut most of our firewood for the huts on site around the huts and have done so for the past 25 years.

It is time to get some "formal" training in felling trees and chainsaw safety/maintenance.

I am looking to you all, the pros as ideas for this type of training. I am looking at the S212 through the BLM/USFS. I am also looking at maybe bringing in a contractor for a day of training for our staff.

Any ideas or imput would be greatly appreciated.

thank you
Scott

There you wil be able to see if there is a trainer anywhere near you. Its a 4 day course. Professional faller training, very sytematic and quite good. Not to suggest not to take slowp's suggestion. GOL will, for instance, inthe right circumstances, lower insurance rates.
