I live in cherry country and when we had a big blow down a few years ago, I couldn't find anyone to come pick up the 20 or so logs I had - too many bigger places to mess with. You need a pretty big truck to haul it to the mill, or else you make a lot of trips ($$), then pay the mill to cut it for you. Me, I decided to save it for firewood.... I didn't have to put out any money for that plan. And didn't have to do it "now"
