I like to clean up the farms and just enjoy having a fire going in winter. To me when it's too bad to go outside it's fun tending the fire.

I like extreme (for here) cold weather hibernating as well. Get the chores done and enjoy sitting by the smogger. I have no huge desire to go out cutting and dragging in wood when it is frozen over mud slop.
 
I agree on the woodcutting zen thing. My "real job" doesn't give me physical tasks like this. I started cutting and splitting for myself because I was cheap, and I kept doing it because I really enjoy the work. If my dad were still alive he'd be either nodding his head or more likely laughing.
