Do we generally hate Clamshells?

I agree about the audience/participants. There were quite a few people that made money porting pro saws. Getting more power out of a clamshell wouldn't be as simple.

I'd also like to add that the pro saws generally came with adjustable bar oilers.

I don't mind clamshells. No special tools needed to get at the main bearings.
