In this thread you will find the usual Stihl haters. This thread is just an opportunity to hate some more.

Don't blame ya, #2 usually doesn't like #1.:D

Do you ever take those cream-sickle glasses off, or are they Stihl prescription? They are giving me a headache from across the country.

New addition to Bailey's catalog:

*NOTE: Installing this upgrade will void your Makita warranty. We recommend waiting for the warranty to expire before installation. Installation should be performed by a qualified professional chainsaw mechanic.

I believe the Sthil spy is no other than Ropensaddle. I mean who would ever believe he had anything to do with Stihl. All of this flippy cap nonsense and rubix cube talk is made to throw us off. Rope secretly bleeds orange and white.

I think Rope is a closet Stihl user. He posts pics of those old wore out dogs but uses Stihl to get the job done. I knew Rope was a smart man...:D

Yup, just what the doctor ordered.:smoking: Just like the song, I can see clearly now.:Eye::Eye:

Looks like Muley has more Stihl's than you 2K, did you borrow those glasses from him,:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

LOL, another closet Stihl lover. I don't have the space in my sig to list all mine. I have thined the heard and counted 9 saws the other day including the projects. I put the husky 350 in the corner, not enough room for him to sit with the Stihls.:D

Unfortunately for you two there is a difference between someone who respects and values the equipment and the corporate *** kissers!:hmm3grin2orange:

My wife said today she wants one of the pro stihlheads to put the flippy cap on and off our br 600. It was funny as hell because; I said, I would like to see them get the sob out of the hole.

Have you found a closet to hide in?:givebeer:

I know you have seen the light, but you still are in the denial phase! :greenchainsaw:

To the original question, sure they have, and so does Husky - but it looks like Dolmar is a bit "slow" (or they just have a longer responce time).

It's no secret that people from Stihl are and have been on AS.
Stihl has to pay to defend itself against dozens if not hundreds of product liability lawsuits every year. They have 70% of the cutoff saw market and most of the lawsuits come from TS cutoff machines, and Chainsaws. Stihl is just covering they're own butt against the EPA, OSHA, and Sue Happy Lawyers.
Stihl produces machines that can be dangerous, and even fatal if operated incorrectly.

I agree it is a lame thing to email, but it's just one more thing that they can use to protect themselves in court.

This is about right. It's no secret that corporations have to do things that we don't agree with for reasons that we can't fathom or don't care about. It's a mad, mad world.

BTW, Richard Nixon started the EPA in 1970. He also initiated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

....

Every company selling its products in the US is vulnerable for being confronted with possible lawsuits that can ruin your company. Blood pointed out the single reason why Stihl sends out that particular message : it's to protect their ass, and from a legal point of view, ...

Sure it is, otherwise they wouldn't do something like that! :givebeer:

The liability suits in the US became a big issue in the gun industry already in the early 1980s, when the US made semi-auto handguns became just about inoperative because of "safety" systems (semi-autos became even slower to bring into action than DA revolvers) - this is a new chapter in the same story! :censored:

Btw, the gun issue was solved by importing some European brands in huge numbers, mainly Glock and H&K - they found smarter solutions that were just as safe!.....

Drawing a pistol, and at the same time flicking a safety switch that is up on the slide upwards, is by no means convenient or fast - but that was how the US lawyers wanted it! :censored::popcorn::popcorn:

Sadly, the US Army was forced into adopting that sort of semi-auto pistol as well.

Those morons will probably never (want to) understand that what kills or cause damage is the human being, and not the tool!

Rant over!
